Supporting local people into work through development of key skills and confidence

HCD is an accredited training provider that delivers high quality skills, employability and training programmes to create better futures for individuals, families, businesses and our local community at large.

Our mission is to develop people through learning and achievement for the benefit of themselves, society and the local economy.

Whether you are looking for a job for the first time, or you have been out of work on a long term basis, HCD can help you get the support, skills and training you need to prove yourself for the job you aspire to.

Currently HCD is running the following Skills and Employment Support programmes:

The aim of the programme is to help people to improve their digital skills, particularly unemployed and/or low ­skilled, as well as people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties.  Book now for  training

HCD is supporting businesses to improve their digital capabilities using Google Digital Garage that offers one-to-one assistance for local businesses of all sizes for free. Digital skills training will cover 23 topics -such as the on line opportunity, connect through email, get noticed through social media and much more. Click here for more information 

HCD as an HMRC advice centre provides FREE support to individuals on four key HMRC services. These are:•Child Tax Credit•Working Tax Credit•Child Benefit•Tax and National Insurance. Book here for advice

HCD with Best Practice Training has been providing Employment support services as required for people referred from Jobcentre. The project is part of the Flexible Support Fund secured from DWP. Learn more...

A free programme designed specifically for people resident in the UK, whose English language abilities are below Entry Level 1 of the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum. 

The course is easy to follow. It will only take a few hours each week. The skills you learn will help you gain confidence in your day-to-day life. 

They include:

  • Healthcare      “ talking to chemists and doctors
  • Shopping          “ how to buy food, clothes and more
  • Technology      “ using the internet, computers, laptops and tablets
  • Out and about “ talking to people in your daily life
