Over 100 micro-businesses, small pre-economic
social/ cultural enterprises, community groups and emergent
voluntary sector organisations have been advised and helped
with their constitutions, business plans, applications for
loans, grants and premises, referrals to other support and
training organisations. We also have provided community based
advice and support to existing small businesses and voluntary
sector organisations, with particular regard to raising trading
income in order to service increasing rental liabilities,
and moving away from grant dependency towards sustainability
in a diverse, mixed economy. Over 20 jobs have been directly
created in 2002 through this work, and indirect job creation
through the growth of supported businesses and their associated
networks is estimated to be not less than 80. |
